The news that the awesome Max Payne was coming to iOS made me a very happy gamer indeed! Slow-motion bullet play, razor-sharp graphics and the fugitive cop I've come to love make this totally unmissable. RockStar have done their fans proud. Note its definitely one for adults only!

My 6 year old loves this game! Kids can choose from either 4 or 9 piece puzzles, where they need to rotate the cubes to complete the 3D fruit. Once the puzzle is completed, the child is rewarded with dancing fruit. I'm also impressed with the child-friendly navigation.

With over 80 levels of intriguing puzzles, Quell is a must-have for puzzle fans. The artwork is breathtaking, the soundtrack is amazing and the puzzles themselves will keep you busy for hours. Slide a droplet around the obstacles, paths and traps and collect all the pearls. Very calm, very good.

As the name suggests, Virtual City Playground HD lets you build and control a city. The game features over 85 quests, 95 achievements and 90 buildings, landmarks etc. The gameplay is decent but the in-app purchases let it down. However, if you're willing to wait, you can do it free.

Anomaly Warzone Earth HD won the Apple Design Award, so there's a hint straight away as to how good it is. It's a tower defence game where you play as the attacking side, using an array of weapons against aliens. Hone your tactics, gather resources and build a powerful army.

Looking forward to the Captain America movie? Check out this game too. Play as First Avenger as he battles the Red Skull. Sentinel of Liberty features HD graphics, awesome combat and loads of levels and hidden content. Totally a must have for comic fans!

With over 400 levels of great game play, Fieldrunners HD is possibly the best mobile tower defence game to date. Master land and air combat and use your best tactics and strategies to defeat the enemies. There are 7 weapons for you to use; the rest is up to you.
